How to Farm Forma: Relics, Crafting & Free Rewards
Farm Forma Blueprints from relics, plan crafting resources and compare built Forma sources. Check the dated free login reward and Plague Star event status.
Why can you open relics and get no Forma?
A Forma reward is random. Several unsuccessful openings can happen even when you choose a suitable relic and squad. Check the actual reward list: not every relic contains Forma, and a blueprint is not the same as a built Forma.
- Check the slot and quantity. Forma Blueprints appear in Common and Uncommon relic reward slots. Uncommon Forma rewards give two blueprints, following Update 36.1. Read the quantity on the particular relic you are opening.
- Match refinement to the slot. Intact favors a Common reward; refining increases the chance of an Uncommon reward. Check the reward slot before spending Void Traces.
- Use a squad when you want more choices. Eligible players can choose from the rewards revealed by teammates. Those extra rolls help only when a teammate opens a relic with a reward you want; public matchmaking cannot guarantee Forma.
Free built Forma: the Update 44 login reward
Update 44 offers Banshee and one built Forma for logging into Warframe between September 23, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. ET and October 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. This is a login gift, not a repeatable Forma farm.
The official notes say that, after the Banshee inbox expires, players who did not receive that inbox can still claim the Forma by logging in until December 31, 2026. If you already received it with Banshee, this is not an additional Forma. Check your in-game inbox and inventory.
Plague Star 2026 has ended: event reference
Operation: Plague Star ended on September 23, 2026 at 10 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC). Its bounty is no longer a current Forma farming route. The event details below are historical; use the login reward above or the relic and Foundry methods for your next Forma.

Historical September 2026 bounty rewards. The completion bonus was separate from the base reward; these tiers are not an active farming recommendation.
The announcement listed built Umbra Forma, three Sigils and the Two-Handed Nikana Maligna Skin among Nakak’s additions. It did not establish a post-event shop window or the next event date. Do not assume the bounty or those purchases remain available after the deadline.
How to farm Forma Blueprints from relics
- Choose a relic and its refinement
Inspect its Forma reward slot first. Keep Common-slot relics Intact if Forma is your main target. For an Uncommon slot, weigh the improved chance against the Void Traces you could use for another reward. Vaulted relics already in your inventory can still be opened.
- Open your relic and qualify for a reward
Select a matching Void Fissure and equip a relic. Collect 10 Reactant before completing the mission or the reward interval. Bring your own relic and finish its opening requirements to choose from the squad’s revealed rewards.
- Choose one reward, then repeat
Each eligible player chooses one reward from the revealed choices. If that reward is a two-blueprint Forma bundle, you receive two blueprints. You do not receive all four squad rewards, even if every relic reveals Forma.
- Compare missions by completed openings
A quick Capture or Exterminate fissure can suit short sessions. Endless fissures let you open more relics without returning to the Orbiter; equip a fresh relic for each interval. Choose an available mission your squad clears reliably while collecting Reactant. Endless is not automatically faster.

Per-slot probabilities, not a squad guarantee. If a relic lists Forma in multiple slots, consider every listed Forma reward and its quantity.

Getting Forma without opening relics
Separate built Forma from Forma Blueprints when comparing rewards. Built Forma is ready to use; a blueprint still needs resources and Foundry time. Also check the exact variant: standard, Omni, Umbra and Stance Forma serve different purposes.

The Market bundle was introduced in Specters of the Rail. Seasonal rewards and event inventories need a current in-game check.
How to build a useful Forma reserve
- Keep the Foundry active when you need stock. Standard Forma takes 23 hours. Claiming the completed item and starting the next craft at your usual login time makes a roughly daily supply practical; it does not start itself.
- Keep blueprints and resources ahead of your next build. A large blueprint inventory alone does not produce usable Forma. Check your supply of all four crafting resources before a long relic session.
- Finish one planned loadout first. Budget the polarities it actually needs, then build a reserve for the next item. Spending Forma on every newly acquired weapon can leave your main loadout unfinished.
- Compare built rewards with crafting. A login gift or Market purchase can bypass Foundry time. Check eligibility, dates and cost first; a one-time gift does not replace a sustainable blueprint and resource supply.
Forma crafting recipe and how to apply it
Each standard Forma craft consumes one Forma Blueprint plus the resources below. The Warframe Community Developers item data records this recipe; Update 27.3 established the 23-hour build time.

Two Forma Blueprints require two separate crafts and twice these resources. The blueprint is consumed when crafting.
To polarize eligible equipment, open Arsenal → Upgrade → Actions → Polarize. Choose the slot and intended polarity carefully, then review the confirmation. Standard Forma can add, change or remove a polarity and resets the item’s rank. A matching polarity reduces the drain of a normal Mod; Aura and Stance slots affect capacity differently.

How many Forma does your build need?
There is no universal Forma count for a weapon or Warframe. It depends on the equipment’s existing polarities, the Mods and ranks you intend to use, its capacity upgrades and whether you need several configurations. Arcanes do not consume Mod capacity.
- Plan the complete Mod setup
Use the Mod ranks you intend to reach. Check whether a Reactor or Catalyst and any required slot unlocks are already installed; Forma does not replace them.
- Choose the polarity that solves a real capacity shortage
Prioritize a high-drain Mod you expect to keep. Check your other configurations before changing the slot: a polarity that helps one build may restrict another.
- Apply, relevel and test before adding more
Stop when the build fits and performs as intended. Some equipment has special rank progression after Forma; check that item’s rules separately from its immediate Mod capacity needs.
