Overframe
One of the largest and most recognized Warframe build resources with broad adoption and a capable free builder, but placed at 'recommended' rather than 'essential' because build quality is inconsistent and community trust in its rankings is only moderate.
Warframe Status API
For developers it is effectively the de-facto standard worldstate API and underpins much of the community tool ecosystem, but its audience is builders rather than everyday players, so it lands at 'recommended' rather than 'essential' on a general tool vault.
Semlar Riven Calculator
Semlar's riven tools are a de facto standard in the Warframe riven-trading niche and are broadly used and referenced, but the rivencalc page specifically is a focused utility (stat ranges) rather than a must-have-for-everyone tool, which keeps it at recommended rather than essential.
Warframe Companion (Official)
Official, free, and very widely used (1M+ Android downloads; ~15k iOS ratings at 4.8) with a real, valued use case: keeping Foundry builds and extractor drones running while away from the game. It falls short of 'essential' because it duplicates in-game functions, has a middling Android rating, and suffers login-friction and occasional reliability issues.

Long-lived, actively maintained (49+ releases, latest v9.x), maintained by the respected WFCD group, and consistently recommended as the standard relic-reward price checker. Not tier 'essential' only because it serves the specific relic-cracking/trading audience rather than all players.

A polished, safe, open-source worldstate/timer dashboard from the respected WFCD team, useful to a broad range of players; not 'essential' because much of its data is also available in-game or through the many other tools built on the same API, giving it a solid-but-not-universal direct user base.
AlecaFrame
Widely adopted among PC traders, strong 4.4/5 Overwolf rating, and repeatedly called a must-have by creators; held back from 'essential' by being PC/Overwolf-only, not open source, and carrying the usual overlay-tool caution.

Widely relied upon as the canonical machine-readable source of Warframe drop data across the third-party ecosystem, but it is a developer/data resource rather than a mainstream player-facing app, so it lands at recommended rather than essential.

Within its audience (developers) it is a de-facto standard, widely depended-upon data source and an official WFCD project that is actively maintained and updated daily. It is not tier 'essential' only because it serves developers rather than general players, and 'niche' understates its broad adoption as backbone data for many community tools.
Warframe Public Export (DE)
It is the official, authoritative upstream data source that effectively every Warframe data tool depends on, which makes it foundational for developers. It falls short of 'essential' as a listed tool because it is developer-only (not player-facing) and its raw form is painful enough that most builders consume it via cleaned community wrappers/mirrors rather than directly.
warframe-worldstate-parser (WFCD)
Not an app for everyday players, but for its actual audience (Warframe tool/bot developers) it is a widely-used, well-maintained, de-facto standard that underpins much of the community tooling ecosystem. Niche audience but high adoption and trust within it.
Cephalon Navis
A long-maintained, open-source mobile companion from a reputable community org (WFCD), covering the core data players check daily. It is a strong pick for mobile users, though not universally essential since much of the same data is available via desktop overlays and websites.
Genesis (Cephalon Genesis)
Widely adopted (~26k servers), maintained by the trusted WFCD team, actively developed (v3.1.1 released July 2026), and free/open-source. It is the de facto Warframe Discord bot, though it serves the specific need of Discord communities rather than every individual player, so 'recommended' rather than 'essential'.
Altair
Broad real adoption (~16,200 Discord servers) and a comprehensive, well-maintained riven/price/world-state feature set make it a strong pick for Warframe Discord servers; not 'essential' since it is Discord-bound and overlaps with standalone web tools, and direct sentiment evidence (Reddit/YouTube) was scarce.
DE World State Protocol
As the authoritative, first-party upstream that powers essentially the entire third-party Warframe tooling ecosystem (warframestat.us, worldstate parsers, alert/timer apps), it is heavily relied upon by developers. It is not tier 'essential' as a standalone product because it is a raw developer endpoint, not a finished tool for players, and most people consume it indirectly through parsers.

- WARFRAME Wiki on Fandom— Read-only web-based encyclopedia; no account, login, game-memory access, or overlay involved, so there is no account or ToS risk. The main downside is Fandom's heavy ad load and tracking, which degrade performance and privacy but are not a game-safety concern. No RMT or credential handling.
- WarBot— Read-only Discord bot that pulls public game data and warframe.market prices; it does not read game memory or use an overlay, and requires no Warframe account credentials, so it poses no DE ToS/EULA risk. The practical concern is not safety but abandonment: no updates since August 2018 means the discord.io library and API integrations are likely broken or deprecated, and self-hosting unmaintained code is on you.
- Odealo— This is real-money trading (RMT). Buying Warframe platinum, items, or accounts with real cash from third parties violates Warframe's EULA/Terms of Service; Digital Extremes can suspend or ban accounts involved in RMT, and there is no in-game recovery for lost items or plat.
